Application and development of injection mold

Injection mold is an important process equipment for the manufacture of various plastic parts. With the rapid development of plastic industry and the promotion and application of plastic parts in aviation, aerospace, electronics, machinery, shipbuilding and automobile industry, the requirements of plastic parts for injection mold are higher and higher. The traditional mold design method can not meet the requirements of today's plastic products. Compared with the traditional mold design, computer aided engineering (CAE) technology not only has great advantages in shortening the injection molding cycle and ensuring the quality of plastic parts, but also reduces the injection molding cost and labor intensity.

In the processing of injection mold, various CNC processing are used. CNC milling and machining centers are widely used. Wire cutting and EDM are also widely used in CNC machining. Wire cutting is mainly used in the processing of various straight wall molds, such as concave convex molds in stamping, inserts and sliders in injection molds, electrodes in EDM, etc. For die parts with high hardness, they can not be used in the machining process. Most of them use EDM. EDM is also used for sharp corners, deep cavity parts and narrow grooves in mold cavities. CNC lathes are mainly used to process standard parts of die rods and die cavities or cores of rotating bodies, such as injection molds for bottles and basins, and forgings for shafts and discs. In die processing, the application of NC drilling machine can also improve the machining accuracy and shorten the machining cycle.

Injection molds are widely used. Almost all plastic injection molding parts in modern manufacturing need them. Therefore, injection mold industry is an important part of high-tech industry and an important and valuable technical resource. Optimize the system structure design of injection mold and CAD / CAE / CAM of profile to make it more intelligent, so as to improve the injection process and mold standardization of injection parts. Improve the precision and quality of plastic mold manufacturing, and reduce the grinding and polishing of mold parts and the manufacturing cycle of injection mold. For various types of mold parts, special materials with high performance and easy cutting are used to improve mold performance, so as to adapt to market diversification and trial production of new products. Apply rapid prototyping technology and rapid prototyping technology to rapidly manufacture injection molds or die-casting molds. All these will become the development trend of plastic mold manufacturing technology in the next 5 to 20 years.
